A ceiling-mountable lamp module providing energy efficient lighting of the user area for normal use and for emergencies. 
The lamp module contains a wide-angle infrared module which, together with the entry module, ensures that after a user enters, the toilet switches to "occupied" mode and provides information if the user does not move for a relatively long time or stays in the user area for a longer period of time than specified.
